When it first premiered, Once Upon A Time had some of the most interesting premises out of any other shows on television. Getting the chance to revisit all of our favorite fictional childhood characters was something the fans received with excitement and interest. So much so that the show ended up having a fantastic seven-season run. And even though some would argue the quality declined over the years, Once Upon A Time still holds a special place in our hearts.

If there’s one thing that helped ensure the popularity of the show was the immense talent of the cast. Most of the actors and actresses that comprised the main cast were already familiar with the world of acting, even if some couldn’t quite pinpoint where they know the actors from. So, let’s take a look at ten other projects where you’ve seen the cast of Once Upon A Time.

Sean Maguire - EastEnders

Before he was Robin Hood in the flesh, Sean Maguire made his acting debut in 1982, and build a steady acting career over the course of the decades following his first role. Spanning from TV movies to small roles in cult favorites like Eve and Death In Paradise, Maguire has had a fruitful career.

But one of the roles most audiences probably recognize Sean from is that of Aidan in EastEnders, a popular British soap opera that has been airing since the 1980s and catapulted Maguire to fame and more complex roles.

Rebecca Mader - The Devil Wears Prada

When the evil witch Zelena first made her appearance in Once Upon A Time, you probably felt like that wasn’t the first time you were seeing Rebecca Mader’s face. Rebecca has actually had several small roles in some of the most popular television shows out there, including Blue Bloods, Hawai Five-0, and Lost.

But Rebecca is also no stranger to the big screen, having had a small appearance in Iron Man 3 and the fan-favorite The Devil Wears Prada, alongside Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep, as one of the mean girls working at Runway Magazine.

Colin O’Donoghue - The Rite

Emma Swan wasn’t the only one who fell head over heels for Captain Hook, with fans all over the world going crazy for the handsome pirate with questionable morals. The Irish actor began his career in the early 2000s, and things have been going pretty well in the acting department.

One of Colin’s most well-known and beloved roles came in the form of Michael Kovak in horror movie The Rite, alongside Hollywood powerhouse Anthony Hopkins. From pirate to exorcist - acting really is a journey!

Lana Parrilla - 24

Lana Parilla began her career as an actress in 1999, and long before she became the Evil Queen that we’ve all grown to love, and hate, and hate to love, she crafted a fantastic resume for herself. She’s acted in projects such as Miami Medical, Boomtown, and Six Feet Under, all favorites among audiences.

But one of the roles that really cemented Lana’s popularity as an actress came in 2005 when she played the role of Sarah Gavin in the hit show 24, starring Kiefer Sutherland.

Robert Carlyle - Trainspotting

Robert Carlyle was, without a doubt, one of the most season actors to be part of the main cast of Once Upon A Time, something audiences could easily confirm thanks to his stellar performance as Rumpelstiltskin/The Dark One. Carlyle has been acting since the late 80s, with plenty of acting credits to his name.

One of the most prolific ones is, of course, the role he played in the cult classic Trainspotting, one of the most intense and dramatic movies of all time. The movie helped the likes of Ewan McGregor and Jonny Lee Miller be instantly teleported into the world of the rich and famous.

Jared Gilmore - Mad Men

The youngest out of the entire cast, Jared Gilmore, played a pivotal character in Once Upon A Time, and it was an absolute joy for fans all across the world to witness him grow up and become a young man. But even though Gilmore was only 11 years old when he was cast on the show, he had been acting for a couple of years prior.

And not in just any project! Jared actually had a role on one of the most critically-acclaimed shows ever, Mad Men, in the role of Bobby Draper. Acting alongside titans like Jon Hamm and Elisabeth Moss sure taught him something!

Jennifer Morrison - House

It’s pretty safe to say that Once Upon A Time wouldn’t even be a thing without the stunning and talented Jennifer Morrison, the heart and soul of the show. Fans were already familiar with Morrison’s face and acting skills from previous projects since the actress has quite an impressive amount of credits to her name.

But one of the most memorable and beloved by audiences will always be that of Dr. Allison Cameron on House, a role that she played for 130 episodes. Even after House changed his original core team, Dr. Allison was always there, to the joy of her fans.

Ginnifer Goodwin - He’s Just Not That Into You

Ginnifer Goodwin will always have a special place in our hearts, simply because she played one of the most iconic characters to ever exist in the flesh. But before she was cast as Snow White, Goodwin was already busy building a solid acting career in the movie industry, thus consolidating her fame.

One of Ginnifer’s most well-known roles was in the romantic comedy He’s Just Not That Into You, a movie that included an all-star cast - Scarlett Johanson, Bradley Cooper, Ben Affleck, Jennifer Aniston, just to name a few.

Josh Dallas - Thor

Perhaps one of the most wholesome things to come out of Once Upon A Time is the fact that the actress playing Snow White (Ginnifer) and the actor playing Prince Charming (Josh) actually fell in love, married, and had kids in real life. Dallas is probably fist-bumping the air and giving thanks for his choice to become an actor.

Even though he was still relatively new to the scene, Dallas’ career has been blossoming. Aside from smaller projects on TV, Josh also played Fandral in Thor, back when Marvel was still in its first phase. Who wouldn’t love to be able to say they were part of an MCU movie?

Emilie De Ravin - Remember Me

Our sweet, loving Belle was played by actress Emilie de Ravin, who already had quite some experience in the field of acting prior to being cast in Once Upon A Time. Her most recognizable television role is perhaps that of Claire Littleton in Lost, but De Ravin was no stranger to cinema either.

In fact, she starred in Remember Me alongside Twilight alum Robert Pattinson back in 2010, in what is probably one of the most devastating movies in the actress’s career.
